MVC Undertakes Major Data Collection Program

Where do Vineyard visitors come from? How much money do different categories of visitors spend and what do they purchase? What percentage of vehicles traveling through congested intersections could be rerouted? We don’t have the answers to these and many other basic questions. Starting this week and for most of August, the Martha's Vineyard Commission will help the Island community fill in the gaps in our understanding of the Vineyard by carrying out a series of surveys. Since census data provides considerable information about permanent residents, the focus will be on travel, visitors and business.
