Study demonstrates roundabout's safety

Results of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study on reduction of accidents at 24 intersections in 8 states converted from stop signs or traffic signals to roundabouts between 1992 and 1997. "Vehicular accidents overall declined 39%, accidents resulting in injures fell 76% and accidents resulting in death or incapacitating injury plunged 90%"
